Our A Team had an exciting match at the weekend against Regional. The match finished 3 – 3. Aisling scorers were Manjur, McMeniman and Mawdsley.
Our Under 18A team are through to the last 8 of FAI Youth Cup. They recorded a 4 – 3 win over Ballymahon from Longford. Their quarter final is away to St Michael’s of Tipp. Come on Aisling Annacotty.
Our U14A team maintained their winning form with a hard earned win against Regional Utd on Saturday in Annacotty. A neat finish by Chris Nwanko after good work by Dara Hough and Adam Cummins settled the game half way through the second half.
Despite starting the game well a series of missed chances and poor decision making in good areas kept Regional in the game. But in a game where the Aisling back 4 were in control throughout and stand in custodian Darragh Murray hardly touched the ball, the hard work of Murphy and Kirrane in the middle of the field eventually got the better of a spirited Regional.
Those to do well for Aisling included Murphy, O'Leary and Hough with Ryan Benni and Ben Hayes continuing to get game time.
Boys Under 12Av Shelbourne
The Boys Under 12A team have been in great form recently. They have played 4 matches during January and February, winning all 4 and scoring 27 goals in the process. Wins against Geraldines (3-2), Newport (8-1) and Limerick FC (8-0) left the team in a strong position facing into last Saturday’s game away to Shelbourne. An emphatic 8-1 victory consolidated the team’s position at the top of the Premier Division. Leading 3-0 at half time the goals continued to come in the 2nd half. Goal scorers were Daniel Walker (3), Donnacha O’ Leary (3) and Davy Brennan (2). Shelbourne were not afraid to shoot from distance but goalkeeper Muiris O’ Dalaigh was equal to any Shelbourne attempts on goal. Defenders Aaron Hough, Colm Lenihan and Seanie O’ hAodha were tenacious in defence and their accurate passing was the launchpad for many attacks. Midfielders Matthew Carroll, Darren Nwankwo, Ben Moylan and Dara Ferland were always keen to have the ball and provided great assists for the goals. The pace of Daniel, Donnacha and Davy was a constant threat to the Shelbourne defence. Under 12 Squad v Shelbourne: Muiris O’ Dalaigh, Aaron Hough, Seanie O’ hAodha, Colm Lenihan, Matthew Carroll, Darren Nwankwo, Ben Moylan, Donnacha O Leary, Daniel Walker, Davy Brennan, Dara Ferland
