UNDER 13 A Team
The Under 13 A Team played two league matches over the past week as they look to finish out the season strongly albeit having to play up to 10 matches in the final 5 weeks of the season.
First up was Regional United on Wednesday 26th April who visited Annacotty. This match followed on from a disappointing LDSL Munster final for some of our players who lost to Cork the previous Sunday and it was a good opportunity to blow off some cobwebs. Annacotty started the match well and were rewarded after 6 minutes when Alex Carragher sliced through the Regional defence to score following a Mark Murphy pass. Alex scored the second on the stroke of half time following excellent build up work from Darragh Murray. The second half was a more controlled affair with Annacotty bossing possession and in the 53 minute we got an own goal courtesy of a Regional defender following a great cross from Leon Kirrane. Leon Kirrane had the ball in the net again 2 minutes later following a great through ball from Mark Kinsella and Darragh Murray rounded of the scoring on 58 minutes to give Annacotty a comfortable 5 nil win. Best players for Aisling on the night were Mark Kinsella, Alex Carragher, Ryan Djupang and Muiris O'Dalaigh.
Our second match of the week saw us travel to Mungret Regional on Saturday morning for what is always a highly competitive fixture and this one was to be no different with the ref having to dish out some yellow cards to each side during the match to keep the tackles in check. The early exchanges were very competitive and in the 15th minute Annacotty broke the deadlock when Darragh Murray scored following an excellent pass from John Ryan. The match remained in the balance for the next 40 minutes but Aisling Annacotty played some lovely football, possibly their best of the season where they retained and controlled possession very well stringing many series of passes together that ran in double figures at times that left the opposition chasing around to try and break us down. Our reward for this excellent play came in the 54th Minute when Leon Kirrane finished superbly from a Mark Murphy through ball and in one of the goals of the season Leon Kirrane took a pass from Ryan Djupang and ran at the Mungret defence and skipped around three Mungret players before finishing to the roof of the net to give Aisling Annacotty a comprehensive 3-0 win.
On a day when the whole team were excellent it is hard to single out players but Leon Kirranes midfield contribution and his two goals in this win is worth noting as is a Muiris O'Dalaigh save early in the first half.

FAI Youth Cup
The club is very proud of the team that lost out to Leeside last Sunday. It was a fantastic achievement to get to the final. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the team. The support from local business and the good wishes from neighbouring soccer clubs and GAA clubs is also appreciated.
