Aisling Annacotty Under 12 A's (Under 12 Premier League Champions).

Our Under 12's went into their final league match of the season away to Pike having won 13 from 13 matches in the League and already confirmed as League Champions were seeking to make it 14 from 14. Pike Rovers were well up for this battle having been beaten earlier in the Season by Aisling 7-1 and were determined not to be beaten again and with Aisling having one eye on the Cup Final next week the first half of the Match was a tense affair with no side getting a grip in the game leaving the score 0-0 at half time. After the half time talk Aisling went about their business with a little more urgency and were rewarded with an early goal from John Ryan to lead 1-0. We had several other chances to score but the Pike Goal Keeper was equal to our best efforts and it was Pike Rovers who scored against the run of play with 10 minutes left in the Match. Despite our best efforts we failed to get the winning goal and the match finished as a 1-1 draw. The match still finished on a high as the Aisling Annacotty Team were presented with the League Trophy and league winners medals at full time. Congratulations to our players who won the league undefeated this season scoring 85 goals whilst only conceding 21.

Best of luck to the team in their cup final on Friday evening. Match scheduled for 6.30pm in Granville grounds. All support welcome.

Barnardos Tournament

What a great day. 16 teams of Under 10’s and under 11’s. All players showed great skill and sportsmanship. The weather was mostly kind and the odd shower didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the day. The facilities in UL were admired by the visiting teams. Well done to all the organisers.
