Match reports Kilmallock 1 – 8 Aisling Annacotty. First half hattrick from Kai Joyce with goals from Jack O'Connor and Conor Arthur gave the visitors a 5-1 half-time lead in dreadful conditions in Kilmallock. Adam Cummins, Robert O'Sullivan and Christopher Nwanko completed the scoring in the second half.
Aisling Annacotty U18 girls team had a comprehensive 7-1 victory over Peake Villa of Thurles in the 1st round of the FAI cup competition. Entering a team in this competition for the 1st time in many years, the team got off to a great start with the midfield duo of Emma Costelloe and Rachel O’Dell opening up the defense for the brilliant finishing of Emma Donohoe who scored 5 goals in the 1st half, the backline of Bronagh Kelly (Capt.), Charlie Hanrahan, Sarah Cleary and Jade O’Connor were rock solid leaving keeper Abby McCarthy with very little to do. Aisling Doran and Sarah Hall created many opportunities on the right-hand side and Taylor McEvoy ran tirelessly on the left defending and attacking. Rachel O’Dell scored two 2nd half goals to complete the score line and the team only conceded a late goal when down to ten players due to injury.
