U14A Team Aisling Annacotty 5  Caherdavin Celtic 2

Our U14As played out an exciting league game at home to Caherdavin Celtic on Saturday. The visitors, a big, physically strong side got off to a flying start taking the lead after two minutes. They kept up their high work rate and scored again before half time to take a 2-0 lead into the break. But our lads showed great character to stage a tremendous fight back in the second half. Dara Costelloe got one back with a low shot from outside the area before Rory Murphy made a superb run from deep to get on the end of a Costelloe cross and score the equaliser ten minutes into the second half. With Alan Conway pulling the strings in midfield we continued to get control of the game and took the lead midway through the half with a superb shot by Jake Dillon from 25 yards. Two late free kicks by Sean O’Shea sealed the win setting up a big showdown with Pike Rovers on Friday evening.

Under 13A

U13A AAAFC played out a 1-1 draw with Corbally in the league. A fierce 25-yard drive from Eoghan Burke was cancelled out in the last minute when Aisling failed to deal with a second ball after a fine save from Jack O’Sullivan. Congrats to all the boys who received their Confirmation at the weekend and also to Thomas McCarthy, Dara Hough and Eoghan Burke who represented the club in the Interleague Final for the LDSL where they were defeated by a strong Cork team in Cork on Sunday afternoon.

Under 12 Premier League – Aisling Annacotty 5, Corbally United 4. (23/4/16)

Aisling Annacotty faced Corbally United in the Under 12 premier league last Saturday Morning in Athlunkard with a much depleted side due to a number of players been unavailable due to injuries or absent due to confirmations/Communions. The 10 players available were aiming to follow up on the Cup win they had over Regional the previous week and the team started very well taking an early lead. Aisling Annacotty lost Ben Hayes to injury after 10 minutes and it was clear that Corbally were up for the challenge of playing the league leaders and equalised soon afterwards. Aisling Annacotty took the lead a further two times in the first half only to be pegged back by a lively Corbally side each time to leave the score 3 – 3 at the half time break. In the second half Aisling Annacotty were much improved with several pand ran out 5-4 winners in the end. Scorers for Aisling Annacotty were John Ryan and Stephen Oydajei with a brace of goals each and Darren Nwankwo scored the fifth and winning goal.
